While observing its Centennial Year, a new tradition was born. A large group of volunteers from the parish gave time and effort to assist the building of a Habitat home in Phenix City one warm spring day.
"Helping others help themselves"- The Church, through the Lazarus Society, meets needs of the larger community. Lazarus Outreach, right around the corner from the church at 16th and Broad Streets, is open by appointment only.

The Lazarus Thrift Shop is a two-fold blessing. It provides Lazarus with the items necessary to meet the needs of clients as well as funds to help those who come to Lazarus for assistance.
Opens every Wednesday and Fridays from 10am to 2pm.
Lazarus is a volunteer operation and always in need of a helping hand.
Lazarus accepts donations of new or gently used clothing and undergarments for men, women, and children. Household items and furniture is also needed. There is a donation box in the Lazarus parking lot for thrift shop items.
There is always a need for food items such as canned goods, non-perishables and staples like flour, shortening, sugar, and cereal, as well as, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, laundry soap, dish detergent, and household cleaners, are always welcome. A box is located in the rear of the church for donations and they may also be dropped off at the "2nd's to Go Thrift Shop" Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 - 2.
